This Saturday (18th March) Warsaw will host the second edition of a scientific conference devoted to child and youth psychiatry – Po Drugiej Stronie Lustra [Eng. The other side of the mirror]. This endeavour forms a platform for specialists, medical doctors and psychiatry students to exchange ideas and experience.
This meeting is devoted to mental health at various stages of human development. Po Drugiej Stronie Lustra also aims to present recent trends in research and covers a wide scope of topics. Speakers cover clinical aspects of well know neurological diseases, such as Alzheimer’s and autism to much rarer conditions such as trichotillomania. Topics also include the psychological background of certain behaviours in children, e.g. social integration in stressful situations.
As well as engaging in theoretical discussions, the Po Drugiej Stronie Lustra Organising Committee encourages delegates to participate in specialist workshops. These include DBT, PTSD, suicidal behaviour, depression, mental crises, executive function and interacting with persons with mental disorders.
The Po Drugiej Stronie Lustra conference is supported by many renown Polish institutions, such as Warszawska Akademia Pediatrii [Eng. Warsaw Academy of Paediatrics], Polpharma, Pharmindex and Medycyna Praktyczna portal. The Rector of the Warsaw Medical University is one of the honorary patrons.
