OPUS 15 – another edition has been launched!

Another edition of the OPUS competition organized by the National Science Center has been launched!

This year, the 15th edition of the OPUS competition takes place. It is a competition for research projects, including financing the purchase or manufacture of scientific and research equipment necessary for the implementation of these projects. Scientists can apply for applications regardless of their degrees and academic titles as well as their achievements. The chance of getting a grant, however, grows with the applicant’s experience. The call for proposals lasts until June 15, 2018. More information at: https://www.ncn.gov.pl/ogloszenia/konkursy/opus15

Since that edition, the competition rules have been changed. So far, applications could have been submitted in the Polish and English language versions, while this year’s edition requires that projects be developed only in English.

We realize that English translation can be quite a challenge, especially for people who are not native speakers of this language. All the more so if the quality of the text is a selection criterion when evaluating projects in the OPUS competition. If you’re still wondering how to write a good application, there are a few rules that you should consider. First of all, you should devote the right amount of time to prepare this application. It must contain all information about research, research team and used literature – all this is to prove to the evaluators that the idea can be implemented. It is also worth to write an initial version of the application and give it to people who have not read it before. You can not forget to prepare all the documents needed to submit an application.

We recommend that you read the article in which you can find a lot more information about writing effective applications: https://www.granty-na-badania.com/2013/12/jak-napisac-wement-o-grant-badawczy -w.html
