Quality Control Assurance

The main goal at eCORRECTOR is to provide professional language support to scientists intending to publish their work in international peer-reviewed journals. We are fully aware that authors whose native language is not English can be disadvantaged when their work is reviewed, independently of the significance of the findings. eCORRECTOR strives to proof and edit manuscripts sent to us so that the work will be evaluated for its scientific merit and not confounded by poor language. Our proofreading service has helped numerous scientists publish their work in almost all areas of science i.e. molecular biology, psychology, clinical studies, botany, engineering, etc.

To ensure our proofread texts meet the required language standards, we have introduced a series of quality control checks.

What does Quality Control mean at eCORRECTOR?

Science editor

Initial screening

We have proofread texts in almost all areas of science and recognise immediately the specific area that the work addresses. This initial screening procedure enables us to select the best proofreader for the text. We contact a specialist and practitioner in the field, one whose education (including a PhD title) and scientific background correspond with the assignment.

Intelligent editing

Intelligent editing

All proofread scientific texts are thoroughly checked in the content-based, stylistic and grammar planes. Each proofreader is proficient in a particular area which ensures intelligent editing of the text since they understand the technical terminology and ideas behind the work. This type of editing means the style of writing is scientific (i.e. concise and factual) rather than literary (verbose). Our proofreaders frequently provide additional helpful comments which can be pondered upon prior to journal submission.

Science editor

Science editor

Our science editor ? Mark Hunt, PhD ? supervises the proofreading process, selects the scientific proofreaders and often approves the final manuscript before it is sent back to the authors. As a Cambridge University graduate with 15 years of experience in scientific proofreading as well as the author of 25 publications, he ensures the quality procedures are applied correctly and thoroughly.

Strong customer care

Strong customer care

Our strong customer care both during and after we have proofread your text means that we will quickly respond to any additional enquiries you may have concerning the text (for example if you need additional clarification about a particular change) normally within the same working day.

hold a PhD

Holding a PhD

All our proofreaders are native speakers of English who hold a PhD (or equivalent i.e. Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery) and have extensive experience in proofreading scientific texts.

Aware of the demands

Aware of the demands

Almost all our proofreaders have published their own work and some have reviewed for international journals. They are fully aware of the demands placed on authors submitting their work for publication.

Certificate of Proofreading

Each text proofread by one of our scientific native speakers of English is awarded a Certificate of Proofreading. This document confirms that the manuscript has been proofread by a native speaker of English who holds a PhD (or equivalent) in a particular area. This certificate may be uploaded when submitting manuscripts to international journals.
